Thank you Aunt Julie!!!

My aunt Julie made this adorable dress for Madison. I love it! She will be able to wear it well into fall. She also sent a cardigan sweater, tights and shoes. I am so excited! Thank you Aunt Julie!

Trip to the Park

Look at that face!!!

Yesterday, Jason and I took Maddie to the local park. The weather was so nice, we just had to get out of the house! Maddie loved swinging on the swings and sliding down the slide (with Mommy of course). The park near us is so cute! I can’t wait until Maddie starts walking around so she can really enjoy it. 🙂

JBF Consignment Sale!

Leap Frog Activity Table
This week is the JBF Consignment Sale in OKC. This season, I decided to consign. I got together some of Maddie’s old stuff, prepped it, priced it and then dropped it off on Friday. Since I am a consignor I was able to attend the Pre-Sale and bring a friend. I went with my best friend Misti and we had so much fun! This sale has everything for baby and child from furniture, bedding and decor to toys, clothes, accessories and infant basics.
I spent a total of $40 and brought home 2 pairs of shoes, 7 pairs of pj’s, 2 hats, 1 pair of mittens, a sling diaper bag, and a Leap Frog activity table (Maddie’s favorite). Everything is in great shape. JBF inspects everything before it goes to the floor.
They have 2 sales per year. This is the Fall/Winter sale and in late winter they will have the Spring/Summer sale. It is the perfect place to pick up the big ticket items if you have limited funds because they thoroughly inspect everything and do not except anything that has been recalled or damaged. They have toddler beds, cribs, changing tables, dressers, nightstands, every kind of stroller (single, double, triple, jogging and umbrella), outside play toys (houses, swings, basketball hoops, bicycles…etc.) and pretty much anything else you can think of.
I have decided that I am going to consign at every sale so I can come to the pre-sale and see everything before the public gets to come and shop. 🙂

Thank you, God, for your daily reminders. :)

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?'” Hebrews 13:5&6
It is completely appropriate that I read this verse today. It is amazing how God orchestrates all things. Earlier this week, I had a break-down. A money break-down. Money has been tight lately. Very tight. I am so thankful for my parents. They helped me to see a few things with a new perspective. This is a huge opportunity to trust in God. God is trying to do a mighty work in me and today’s passage is another reminder of that: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
I am continually amazed at how the right passage finds me at the right time. God knows what he is doing. (I guess I shouldn’t be surprised when I know that!)
Thank you God for reminding me that you are always there. Thank you for continuing to work in my life. No matter how many times I fall down, you are always there to pick me up. Help me to walk by faith. With You nothing is impossible! 🙂

Nothing is Impossible!!

Planetshakers- Nothing is Impossible
I’m not gonna live by what I see,
I’m not gonna live by what I feel

Deep down I,
Know that you’re here with me,
I know that, You can do anything

Through You,
I can do anything,
I can do all things,
For it’s You who gives me strength,
Nothing is impossible

Through You,
Blind eyes are open,
Strongholds are broken,
I am living by faith,
Nothing is impossible

I believe, I believe,
I believe, I believe in You
Sunday, Jason and I attended Journey Church in Norman. This was the first song they sang and since then I cannot get it out of my head. I love this song, so I thought I would share it with all of you.

“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” Hebrews 3:13
One thing that struck me about this passage is its emphasis on “Today”. So many times I focus on simply surviving the day and making it to tomorrow. I borrow trouble. I worry about what may happen months down the road. I rarely stop to think about Today.
One thing I am learning is that this relationship and walk with God requires a daily commitment. I need to study His Word daily. (It is amazing the difference in my day when I do.) I also need to focus on more than just me. I need to focus on Him. I want to draw closer to him everyday so that my desires reflect His desires for my life. I want to be a woman after God’s own heart.
Today, I long to hear His voice. Today, I want to be an encouragement to others. Today, I want to walk by faith. I am not going to borrow trouble. I am going to focus on the tasks in front of me. I am going to be joyful Today. I am going to look for God’s blessings Today and I am going to look for ways to bless others. Today.

Birthday Clothes!

Our neighbor purchased the cutest clothes for Maddie for her birthday. The day of the party we received the jeans in the top photo (still a little big), a pink tutu, and a white onesie. Kandace paid for the white onesie to be embrodiered at a local boutique. Jason and I went to pick it up today and it turned out so well. Everything is still a little big on her which is perfect because she will be able to wear everything in the fall when it cools down enough to wear long jeans outside. I love it!

Well, I think the heat of the day made my kitchen too warm. I was able to make a few more sunflowers before the frosting started to melt again and then I had to improvise. I decided to frost the rest with the green base frosting and then add some nonpareils to the sides and some ladybugs on top to go with the sunflower theme. I think they turned out ok. At least I know that I can make the sunflowers, but not on a day that is close to 100 degrees outside.
I am actually very proud of myself for the few cupcakes that did turn out well. I was worried for a while that I would not be able to pick up the technique, but I figured it out by myself and that made me very happy. Jason and I are looking into cake decorating classes for me to take. I think that would be so much fun for me to do and maybe I could go into business for myself one day doing parties. Who knows?
Anyway, I thought I would share the results of my efforts even though we may not be bringing them to the party after all. Maddie is now taking a nap and the party is over half an hour away and it has started already. O well. At least we will see everyone on Sunday. There were so many desserts already on the list that I do not think the cupcakes will be missed.
